Amazon Silk.
Regardless what Amazon’s new browser Silk means for us as web developers, I know what it means, or rather what it signals, for consumers: local devices are only half the equation. Applications that don’t have server-based components will soon be the exception rather than the rule.

Absolutely. It seems a whole array of products are moving that way which I have nothing against but it does put more pressure on governments and mobile/Internet companies to supply decent infrastructures. I can barely get a decent 3G signal on my mobile phone and I live in a major city in the UK!
