Examine this photo. It’s an elevator in a parking garage in downtown Pittsburgh. Pay careful attention to the button. There are no up or down arrows. The LED on the button is red. It’s surrounded by bright red signage. The plate surrounding the button contains fire-related wording and imagery. What do you think happens when you press the button?

• It summons the elevator.
• It sets off the fire alarm.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. I stood with Nate examining it for about 10 seconds before someone else walked in and pressed it.
